I visited Kemmangundi, St.Mary's Island and Ankola with students on Geological study tour.

Saturday I had been to BRB College, Raichur as guest speaker. From there I went to Kurnool to see the famous Belum Caves. It is a wonderful art created by water underground. One must not miss it!!

Today we have inaugurated two day workshop. I was the convener for this workshop. Dr.S.H.Pawar, VC of DY Patil Deemed University was Chief Guest & Shri.R.D.Shanbhag principal presided over.

I am proud to inform that our college got selected as College for Potential Excellence under XI plan of UGC.

We are organising a Two-Day workshop "Research Funding Agencies and Formulating Research Project Proposals", at our college, on 12-13 March 2010. This workshop is sponsored by NAAC, Bangalore.

Last week we had NAAC Peer Team Visit to our College. They appreciated my work and commented in the exit meeting as "Commendable Work". Today we received the result and our college got "A-Grade" with 3.10 CGPA grading.

Monsoon Erosion along Malvan Coast

Last week we visited Malvan for the monsoon data collection. The state of erosion of beaches is quite significant. At places where beach protection walls have been built by stones, the erosion is severe. So why build walls! leave it to the nature to maintain balance. To save the coast, protect the coastal dunes, have close spaced tree fense by planting trees which will help to hold the wind blown sand and dune built up.
